HUMBOLDT -- Kenneth Hance, age 87, of Humboldt, passed away 10:28 p.m.T hursday, June 7, 2007 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Funeralserv ices were held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mitchell-Jerdan FuneralHome wit h Rev. Stephanie Johanpeter officiating. Interment withmilitary rites b y VFW Post 4325 were in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.VFW members partic ipating were John Protz, detail commander; LarryOwen, Chaplain; George M cMichaels, Larry Smith, Scott Buesking andCliff Roling, Color Guard; a nd Geno Espe, Tuny Cox, Bill Nash, MurphyHott and Ronald Smith, firing s quad. The organist, Kay Bugenhagen,played "Amazing Grace" and "In The G arden." Pallbearers were Bruceand Brian Daily, Chris Moresi, Ryan and J ohn Redd and Don Hance.Honorary pallbearers were Rick Copeland, Robert Y oder, Willis andNelson Otto and Brian Foutch. Kenneth Hance was born M arch 2, 1920 atNewman, Illinois, a son of Joe B. and Daisy Dean Whitle y Hance. Hemarried Doris E. Daily August 22, 1944 at Cooks Mill, Illin ois.Surviving are his wife, Doris; daughters, Joyce Redd and husband R onof Hamel, IL and Marilyn Moresi and husband Bob of Creve Coeur, MO; and a sister, Wilma Andres of Humboldt. He also leaves grandchildren,Ry an Redd, Rebecca Foutch and husband Brian, John Redd and wifeMichelle, C hristopher Moresi and wife Amy, Nancy Vesters and husbandMark and Kath ryn Moresi; great-grandchildren, Sam Redd, Kenny andMaddie Foutch, Car ver and Nathan Redd and Alex Moresi. He waspreceded in death by his pa rents, one brother, Duane Hance and onesister, Lois Ashworth. Mr. Hanc e was a member of Pleasant GroveBaptist Church. He proudly served his c ountry in the U.S. Army as afirst lieutenant in the field artillery. K enneth was a farmer andenjoyed caning chairs and weaving baskets as ho bbies.
