1820 Where was this couple at census time that year?

From History of Fairfield County, Ohio, Liberty Twp:

"There were also Baltimore 418.130 several powder mills in thislocalit y — one built by Sebastian Carpenter, another by Jacob Bix"

Madison Twp, Farifield Co, OH per K L Dague, researcher, who also saidh e moved from there and his descendants are unknown.

1830 Goodhope Twp, Hocking Co, OH. In Sebastian Carpenter's familyth at year were 1 male age 10-15, 1 at 15-20, Sebastian was 40-50, 1femal e under 5, 1 at 5-10, and his wife also 40-50.

From Genealogical Notes on the Carpenter Family:

"Henry Shallenberger, who had married John's widow, together with hisb rothers-in-law, John and Sebastian Carpenter, sold their possessionsan d moved to Shelby County, Illinois in which section theirdescendants s till reside."

And again:

"About the same time, the widow of John Carpenter, and the mother ofDi ana Pearce, with her son Israel Carpenter, and her two sons Edwin,and H enry Shellenberger, by her second husband, moved to ShelbyCounty, Illi nois, and with them her two brothers, John and SebastianCarpenter, of t he old stock, who came from Pennsylvania. These twobrother had famili es, and their descendats now live in Shelby, Wayneand Sangamon countie s, Illinois, and near Mexico, Mo."

Abt 1833 Shelby Co, IL. If they moved there with the aboveimmigrants , they must not have stayed long.

1840 Monroe Co, IL. Sebastian's family included 1 male aged 20-30, 2a t 50-60 (Sebastian and who else?), 1 female at 15-20, and 1 also50-60. N ext door lived daughter Susannah and Charles H Presker.Brother John wa s in Shelby Co.
