8/9/1860 Benton Twp, PO Goshen, Elkhart Co, IN Levi, 36, was still af armer but he had only personal property, which was worth $190,perphaps i n preparation for moving to IL to join the rest of thefamily there. E lizabeth was 39, and the family had grown to includeGeorge E, 13, Theo dore, 11, Eugene, 8, Lyman B, 5, Sarah E, 3.Parents and all children b orn OH except last 2. born in IN.

He s erved in Company B, 150th Reg. of the Illinois Infantry.Received disab ility pension. Discharge papers gives his birthplaceand states that he i s 5 ft 10 inches tall, light complexion, greyeyes, sandy hair and by o ccupation a farmer."

Wife Elizabeth,was 4 7 and the children in the house were Theadore, 21, Almina, 18,living i n the family, (actually Theadore's wife), Eugene, 18, LymanB, 15, Sara h E, 13, Flora D, 9 Three doors down was Julie Gring andfamily. Half- sister or cousin?
6/19/1880 City of Washington, Tazewell Co, IL. That census takerreco rded Levi, 56, as a peddler, (OH, Eng, PA), Elizabeth was 57 (OH,PA, P A) and they lived alone. Where had all the children gone?

6/1/1900 Pine St, Lincoln Ward 5, Lancaster Co, NE Listed as Lute int he census, he was 76, married 58 years to Elizabeth, 77, who hadbirthe d 10 children, only 5 of whom were still living. Son Theodore,51, was d ivorced and living there as well as servant Fannie Johnson,55, also di vorced. Levi says his parents were born Eng & PA,Elizabeth's were bot h from PA.
Every census says Levi was born in OH but relatives say NY.
According to descendants, Levi's death certificate says both parentswe re born in England.
