Apparently at some point after her marriage to Blaney she returned toE ngland for a visit, only to find her land being claimed by another.The f ollowing is found in records of the Virginia Company of Londonof 6/15/ 1625:
"we finde y you haue bynn exceedinglie misinformed by Mrs Blany, thela nd wch she claymeth beinge excluded by a pviso in the Pattent, andye g oodes most of them beinge dwe to ye saide Capt mathews, by CaptPowell, A nd longe before her retourne the accoumpts cleered betweenhim and mrs B lanye. A Copie of the Pattent and the case as itappered to us, Togeth er wth the severall depositions, and the orderthervppon concerninge th e same, we heerwth send you. Yt appeers ytCapt mathews was seated vpp on the saide Lande neere twelve monethsbefore he was questioned at all b y them, and no Complaint broughtbefore us, till mrs Blaynies retourned o ut of England, By wch meansCapt mathews hath pceeded in great Charge i n Buildinge and cleeringe,Wch however the case may proue, ought in Con veyence & equitie to beesatisfied, And exceed the value of the lande."
