She attended theology school at Evanston, IL and received the sametrai ning required for a Methodist minister even though women were noteligi ble for ordination in those days. She spent several years inmissionar y and charitable work but after losing her hearing, went tolive with a s ister-in-law in Los Angeles, CA
She died at the home of half-brother, Frank Van Gundy.
