David was a 38 year old farmer withproperty val ued at $1000/250. Wife Sarah A was 31, their childrenwere Wesley J, 1 0, Almeda, 8, Hester A, 5, and Sarah E, 2. Wm Burke,24, probably Sara h's brother, also lived there as a farm laborer, anddown the road was t he James Burke family.
7/2/1870 Same Twp, PO Butler Center. They still lived in thevicinity o f Hester's family and farming seems to have been profitablefor him. H e was 48 with property worth $6330/2230. Sarah, 41, kepthouse for the l arge family of 7 children: Almeda J, 18, Esther A,14, Elizabeth, 12, E mma J, 8, Laura R, 6, Minnie, 4, and David E, 10months. James Burke w as still down the road as was Hester'srelative, Reason Hickle.
