Notes for Julius Caesar VAN GUNDY

Julius served in the Civil War in Co K, 89th OH Inf Vols.

7/25/1870 Buckskin Twp, PO Greenland, Ross Co, OH. That year thecens us taker listed Julius at 28, a farm laborer, with wife Cordelia,23, a nd 3 children: Charley, 4, female Lawrence, 3, and James, 1.

6/29/1880 Indianaola, Vermilion Co, IL. At census time Julius C"Vang unday" was a 39 year old laborer. Wife Cordelia was 33 and theyhad a f ull house with Charles E, 14, farming; Rena B, 13; Lambert,10; Abraham , 8; Allice, 5; and Samuel, 2. They were the only ones bythe name in t he county.

NE Descendants said they moved there from Indianola but did not knowthe date.

1895 Kiowa, Barber Co, KS. The state census listed JC, 54, bonr OH;f emale CE, 47, born IN: SG, 17, born IL; female DI, 13, born IL; andHC, 9 , born IL.

6/2/1900 Kiowa city, Barber Co, KS. The census recorded "Julis" atag e 59, married 35 years to "Codelia," 50, with 7 children, all stillliv ing. Sons Abe J, 28, and Harve, 13 lived with them.

1904 Brother Abraham died at his home in Kiowa that year.
