"William Crisp, father of Mary, personally gave consent to hermarriage . In 1829, Charles Purvis was paying taxes on 292 acrs ofland in Nelso n Co. On 24 Nov 1832, he sold 121 acres for $1,200 toFloyd S. Whitehea d. This was part of a tract purchased by his fatherin 1769. Deed Book 7 , pg. 414 Nelson Co, VA. By 1850 Mary had diedand his real estate was v alued at $2,000. Charles Wyatt and Rebecca(Becky) were living in his h ome and caring for him. He now owned 280acres of land."
