Certified that Major Robert Powell, dec'd.l ate of said county, who was a Major in the state line of VA. diedintes tate, May, 1815, leaving Ann West Powell, his widow (who hassince died ) and the following children: William (now of Nelson Co,Ken.), Robert ( n ow of Hickman Co, Ken.), Mary B. Jones (of Adair Co,Ken. and widow of W illiam Jones), Margaret P. Bledsoe (of Clay Co,Ken.), Susan Jacobs (wi fe of John A. Jacobs, now of Boyle Co, Ken.),and John Powell (late of W arren Co, Ken, but who is now dead, leavingmany children).
The children of the late John Powell: Edmund, Ann Eliza, MaryFra nces, George M, Ellen, Patsy Bell, John Giles, Sarah annie,Hobson, and T homas Powell, all of whom are yet living.

Murphy of Nelson Co, Ky, now ofRichmond, m y Atty. to obtain warrant for the services of my father,Major Robert P owell of the Va. state line." Witnesses, Wm. Hite andJohn S. Daniel. A ttest. Warrant 9070 for 259 acres issued 22 June, 1844 to WilliamPowell, o ne fo the heirs of Maj. Robert Powell.
Note. At the bottom of the above paper, in the same handwritinga s the above is written: Edmund, Ann, Eliza, Mary, Frances, GeorgeM, A llen, Patsey Bell, John Giles, Sarah Ann, Hobson and Thomas,children o f John Powell, who was one of the six children of MajorRobert Powell, t ogether entitle to 259 acres, the only portion stilldue.
