Brief Outline of the Life of a Sturdy Pioneer who came to Indiana morethan Seventy Years ago. ----

FATHER OF THIRTEEN CHILDREN -----
Morgan Jones, who died at the home of his son, Isaac O. Jones, inLiberty township, was one of the pioneer settlers of Fountain countyand he became a citizen of this county thirty-six years ago.
Mr. Jones was born near Wheeling, Virginia, November 24, 1805.The family left there when he was six years old and settled inMontgomery county, near Dayton, Ohio. When mr. Jones reached hismajority he came to Indiana and settled in Fountain county. This wasin 1827, seventy-two years ago.
In 1836 he was married to Catharine VanGundy. To this union whereborn thirteen children, six of whom are now living: Mrs. Joseph Stumpof Williamsport; Mrs. Mary Manlove. of Fountain county; Mrs. RachaelCrumley, of Benton county; Isaac O. Jones, of Liberty township; SamuelO. Jones, of Jasper County and Jas. A. Jones, of Indian Territory.
In 1862, Mr. and Mrs. Jones came to Warren county and Mr. Jonesresided here until his death. The last nineteen years of his life heresided with his son, Isaac O. Jones. The death of Mrs. Jones occurredin 1884.
Mr. Jones was a tanner by trade and engaged in that business inFountain county, beside conducting extensive farming operations.
In an early day he made frequent trips down the river carryingloads of products to points along the Ohio and Mississippi, as farsouth as New Orleans.
He was an active man and was successful in business operations inan early day.
With his death the oldest person in Warren county passed away, hebeing in his 94th year.
The funeral occurred Saturday, February 11th, at eleven o'clocka.m., from the residence of his son, Isaac O. Jones, of Libertytownship. The remains were laid at rest in the Chenoweth cemetery.(Williamsport Warren Review - Thurs., Feb. 16, 1899, pg. 1)

This cemetery is also known as Chenoweth Cemetery.
