"1855 A family account gives Solomon Forney, in the company of hisfat her, Peter, Mother Frances, and 41 others, going to Holt County,Missou ri (neighboring the Nemaha) in 1849. Perhaps some family didmove at th at time. But it’s stated they were passengers on the BenWest steamer t hat sank near Boonville Mo. stranding them for threeweeks. However, th e Ben West, put into service in 1849, didn’t sinkuntil August 10 1855. "
