This Indenture made this 16th day of November one thousand sevenhundre d and ninety five, Between Pickitt Shifflet and Lewis G. Powellboth of t he County of Orange of the one part and John Miller of thesame County o f the other part, Witnesseth that for and inconsideration of the sum o f one hundred pounds current money to us inhand paid the receipt where of we do hereby acknowledge & do bargainsell and deliver and by these p resents do bargain sell deliver adconfirm unto the said John Miller hi s heirs and assigns forever oneCertain Tract or parcel of Land lying a nd being in the Countyaforesaid and on the south side of Thornton Rive r and on the watersof the same containing two hundred acres according t o the boundariesthereof be the same more or less the said Land is boun ded by the landthe said Miller bought of Abner Breeding, by Lewis G. P owell lands,by the land said Miller bought of Sam'l Self and by Edward B rent'sland being part of three hundred and thirty acres granted by Pat tonto Mark Stowers bearing date one thousand seven hundred and sixty t wowith all the appurtenances thereunto belonging rents, issues & profits unto the said John Miller his heirs and assigns forever and thesaid P ickett Shifflet and Lewis G. Powell doth further covenant andagree wit h the said John Miller that we, our heirs &c. will foreverwarrant and d efend a good and lawful title to the above mentionedLand and premises u nto the said John Miller his heirs and assignsforever and also that we w ill at any time hereafter make any otherconveyance of the said land an d premises the said Miller or hisCounsel may devise Witness our hands a nd seals the day and year abovewritten Pickett his X mark Shifflet
