"NEHEMIAH ARTHUR, a twin brother of Aaron Arthur, who is elsewherement ioned in this work, is a native of Beech Creek Township, GreeneCounty, I nd., where he now lives. He was born December 11, 1841, oneof the fam iy of John and Anna (Watkins) Arthur. His schooling waslimited to the c ountry schools where he has been reared. On October15, 1861, he marri ed Margaret E. Burks, and to this union ninechildren have been born--M ary A., William W. (deceased), John F.,Joel R., Odella, Anna L., Marti n L., Aaron L. and Amanda A. In thefirst part of life, Mr. Arthur was a f armer, and in fact has alwaysbeen such, although he has been in the sa w-mill buisness ever sincethe fall of 1871, with the exception of the y ear 1879. He now owns298 acres of good farming land, well improved. B oth Mr. and Mrs.Arthur are members of the Christian Church, while he i s a Democrat inpolitics. They are of the best people, and highly resp ected ascitizens in the community where they live."
