BirdieJordan vis ited the cemetery in 1987 and said, "There are 13 membersof the Whisle r, Welty, Wallace and Good families in this smallcemetery. This abando ned cemetery was adjacent to a "New Light" logchurch many years ago. I w as in Whistler for the purpose of doingsome research on the Welty fami ly and to pull
courthouse records, but the day before I arrived the courthouse wassev erely damaged by a bomb and it was closed. Two months later I wasable t o go back and pull some records, but not extensively. At thattime I p laced artificial flowers on the graves of Nancy, Barbara andSusanna. I h ad complained to the city of Kokomo about the cemeterybeing a public d ump. when I returned in June it was clean. Thereare many broken head stones, so there may be more members of thefamilies than I could see. T here was a listing of the graves in thiscemetery in the Kokomo library , but I found that many errors hadbeen made in the listing, so
cannot vouch for it's authenticity."
