Nancy was 32 andchildren in t he house were James, 17, and Grant, 16, Manda, 2, andMartha, 1. A Man erva Crimpking, 9, was living with them, possibly astep-daughter? Son , Zach, still lived nearby.
1865 The state census found him and Nancy at the same residence with2 m ales and 4 females: 1 male under 10 (Gabriel), 2 females under 10(Mart ha and Sarah), 1 female 10-20 (Manda), 1 female 30-40 (Nancy),and 1 ma le at 50-60 (himself).
1870 Same address. He was 60 years old with a 30 year old wife and 5c hildren: Martha M, 10, Gabral L, 8, Sarah, 6, Joseph A, 4, andRosilla, 1 m o. Manda was missing.
1880 Crooked Creek Twp, Jasper Co, IL. The family had moved and thatc ensus taker recorded his birth place as KY, the only one to do so.Benj amin was then 65 years old, Nancy was 54. Joseph, 15, was theonly chi ld still at home. Next door was daughter Martha and OliverTobit's fam ily.
In the 1910 census, Malinda's parents were both born in IN.
He officiated at the 3rd marriage of daugher, Malinda, that year.
It is thought Benjamin was buried at Aten Cem near Hidalgo, Jasper Co,I L with Amanda but that hasn't been proven.
