9/2/1850 Still there. The census that year recorded him just downthe r oad from Uncle Joseph Van Gundy and cousins, Peter and Jonathan.He was a 4 5 year old farmer with real estate worth $4500. His wife'sname was El izabeth, 35, and they had children: Amanda, 14; Rachel,11; Mary, 9; A ustin, 6; Wesley, 4. Living with them was a JosephChetten (sp?) 25, l aborer.
1870 Same residence. The census that year said David was a 65 yearol d farmer, wife, Eliza J, was 55, and living with them werechildren, Am anda, 35, Mary J, 29, and David C, 10, and 12 year oldSusan ?, probabl y a grandchild. Next door were daughter Rachel andAlbert Jones and 2 d oors down was Peter Van Gundy.
1880 Same place. In that census David was 75 years old and stillfarmi ng. Living with him and Eliza were 2 children, Amanda, 44 andCary, 21 , farm hand, as well as Alice Ault, 14, servant, and JohnMande, 68, fa rm hand.
Some records list his death date as 1885 but the date posted was givenb y grandson, JD.
David was buried between his two wives.
