He served with the Marines from 1943 to 1947 and spent 21 months inthe S outh Pacific during WWII.
He was "Elder Emeritus" at the First Christian Church in Mattoon, IL,a fter 45 years of service. He was also a member of the Mattoon HighSch ool Boosters Club and coached Little League Baseball. He was anavid g olfer as well.
The funeral was held at 10:30 on Tuesday morning at the MitchellJerdan F uneral Home with Rev Robert C Clark officiating.
