It seems David and Daniel has been confused by transcribers. In the18 50 census only David was listed, in 1860 it was Daniel, differentwife b ut same children. It appears Daniel remained in TN while Davidcame to I L with his father.

8/2/1860 Georgetown Twp, PO Georgetown,, Vermilion Co, IL. At censust ime David Collins was 38 years old and a farmer but had onlypersonal p roperty valued at $250. Wife Elizabeth was 29. Childrenliving there w ere James, 14, Thomas, 9, and Daniel, 2. Living withthem was Daniel's f ather at age 70, also a farmer but with $5000 inpersonal property.
