1810 Where was this couple at census time?

1820 Capt Winfrey's Dist, Surry Co, NC was where the census takerfoun d him along with brothers William and John and father Anthony.He was t he only male in his house and he was 26-45 years old. Livingwith him w ere 1 female under 10, 3 at 10-16, and probably his wife at26-45. The re were no Campbells in the county.

1830 Surry Co, NC, still there at census time. He was 40-50 yearsold a nd had living with him 2 males under 5, 1 at 5-10, 2 were 15-20,1 fema le under 5, 3 at 5-10, 1 at 10-15 and 2 aged 15-20, and 1 at30-40. Ne ighbors were unknown names.

Cemetery records state he arrived in Illinois in 1830, not 1831.

E Oakland Twp, Coles Co, IL. When the family moved is unknown but itw as probably the fall of 1830 after the above census. Local historysai d in the winter of the deep snow (1830), his family and that of aMr. M ason camped on the Embarrass River.

2/1/1831 Coles Co, IL, was his residence when he purchased 80 acresat S 20 T14N R103, also in Coles Co. He paid $1.25/acre, a total of$100, a t a Federal land sale.

9/16/1831 Aaron was patentee on 80 acres of Coles Co land on thatdate .

9/1831 Morgan Twp/Greasy Creek, Coles Co, IL. He was one of thefirst s ettlers of the area. From 1842 to 1856-7 when the church wasbuilt, th e Presbyterian sermons were preached at his house as well asa neighbor .

1840 No twp, Coles Co, IL. He was probably at the same residence ast he last census. Aaron had a large family consisteing of 1 male aged10 -15, 2 at 15-20, himself at 50-60 and one at 80-90 (who? his fatheror h ers?), 1 female aged 5-10, one at 10-15, and one at 20-30. Nextdoor n eighbors were son Watson and James Sublet with brother Adam onthe othe r side of Watson.

1850 Where was he that year?

1860 Willoa Branch Twp, Piatt Co, IL, was his residence at censustime b ut he apparently moved back to Coles Co where he died 3 yearslater.
There is a date discrepancy w/tombstone & all census listings, being ad ifferent age w/each one and then there is this:

Much too late for this man!!

Aaron died without a will and son, George, petitioned the court to bea ppointed administrator of his estate consisting of monies, creditsand h ousehold furniture. Heirs listed in the petition wereZachariah, Watso n, Elizabeth Campbell, Clara Craton, Mary McAlister,Sarah Clayton, Fan ny McAlister, Aron Jr, Solomon, J J, Martha, andthe petitioner, George . The estate was valued at $1559.39 andsettlement was not made until 6 /19/1865 when 11 heirs received$126.40 each. (Solomon was already dece ased so his children receivedhis share.)
Why does he have two headstones while his wife has none?
