Aaron was farmer. He could read but not write by 1870.

1831 Morgan Twp, Coles Co, IL.

1850 Greasy Creek, Coles Co, IL. In the census, he was living nextdo or to brother Watson. His household consisted of himself at age28, w ife Sarah, 26, Lucinda, 5, and Mary W, 1. No occupation orproperty wa s recorded.

7/4/1860 PO Charleston, Morgan Twp, Coles Co, IL. This was probablyt he same address as the previous census. He was listed at 39 yearold, a f arm tenant with $100 worth of personal property only. Hisfamily inclu ded wife Sarah, 37, and children Lucinda, 14, Mary, 12,Margaret D, 9, L avina A, 8, and Sarah, 6, as well as brother Watson'syoungest children , Daniel R, 12, Martha, 10, and Eliza A, 4, havingtaken the children a fter the death of their mother.

1866 The tax assessor listed: 25 acres in corn, 10 in other grain; 4h orses @ $125, 7 cattle @ $89, 17 sheep @ $25, 4 hogs @ $14; 1carriage @ $ 5; $20 enumerated property. Total = $278.

7/4/1870 Curtisville, Morgan Twp, Coles Co, IL. He was a 44 year oldf armer at census time. Living with him were Sarah, 43, Lucinda, 24,Mar y, 20, Margaret, 18, Lavina, 17, Sarah, 16, Persena, 13, andClara, 6. H e had only personal property which was valued at $400 andhis uncle/fat her-in-law, Adam Collins, 75, was living with them. Twodoors down the r oad was David McAllister and down the other way wasbrother Watson.

1880 Morgan Twp, Coles Co, IL. Only daughter, Cena, was at home.Jose ph Boxom, 25, farm hand was also listed there in the census.
He was 28 in the 1850 census, making his birth year 1822. DaughterLuc inda told the 1880 census taker that both parents were born in TN.
Cemetery records state he arrived in Illinois in 1830, not 1831.
