MATTOON - Sylvia Juanita Taylor, 95, of Mattoon, passed away at 8:50am S aturday, June 19, 2010. At her request, there will be noservices, and h er body will be donated to science. Mitchell-JerdanFuneral Home locate d at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL, is assistingthe family with arra ngements. She was born August 1, 1914, inHumboldt Township, the daught er of James "Mike" Taylor and MarthaDaily. Surviving is one brother, J ames "Bus" Taylor (Wanda); threenephews, Mike Taylor (Pam) of Savannah , Ga., Doug Taylor (Wanda) ofMattoon, Jeff Taylor (Marilyn) of Greenup ; seven great nieces andnephews; and four great great nieces and nephe ws. She was preceded indeath by one older brother, Merle Taylor. She a ttended the Bond andPoorman country schools, and Humboldt High School. J uanita had spenther years doing work for the former Mattoon Memorial H ospital, aswell as working in the Illinois Department of Mental Health i n Elginand Kankakee, retiring as a supervisor. She was extremely close t ochurch, family, relatives, and friends. She was a member of the New Life Apostolic Church, and repented, was baptized in Jesus name, andfil led with the Holy Ghost when she was 18 years old. This was theexperie nce received by the church on Pentecost Day, according to Acts2:38, an d recorded in the book of Acts.
