6/21/1900 Humboldt, Coles Co, IL. At age 13, his father having died4 y rs prior, he was living with the family of Joseph and ElviraStrong as a s ervant, according to the census. His mother lived withone of his sist ers.

1909-1911 720 Piatt, Mattoon, IL

1912-1913 2 mi North of Mattoon.

1913 2 mi East of Mattoon.

1918 Mattoon, Lafayette Twp, Coles Co, IL. He and brother Aaron weret he only Arthurs listed in the county farmer listing. He and Opalhad 2 c hildren and he was a tenant farmer of 185 acres in S9 owned byFrank Bu rgner.

9/18/1918 RFD#7, Mattoon, Coles Co, IL. was the address he gave whenr egistering for the draft. He was a self employed farmer and gavehis d ependents as wife and two children and his mother. Support ofthe fami ly was also the reason he gave for not being drafted.Physically he wa s deseribed as medium height, medium build, withbrown eyes and dark ha ir.

1/14/1920 Same place. At census time he was 33, Opal was 29 and theyh ad only 2 children, Zephia, 11, and Edna, 7. George was a farmer.Next d oor was Albert Daily.

1930 Still there. The census that year recorded him as 43, Opal at40 , Zethie was 21, Edna, 17 and Albert, 8. George was 21, Opal 18,when t hey first married. George was a farmer while Zethie was alaborer on t he farm. The value of their house was $1700.
He was the 8th child of his mother.
George died of coronary occlusion at his home 2 miles north of
Mattoon, IL. He had been ill for about 2 years.
