Spotsylvania Co, VA where he was born

1734 Orange Co was carved from Spotsylvania, leaving William in thenew county.

1734 Culpeper Co, VA was form from Orange and again his residencechanged even though he never moved.

6/29/1773 According to court records William obtained title to 351acres of land near a watercourse called "Black Water Run." Of hisland, 59 acres were planted in tobacco, considered a cash crop, andprobably raised cotton too, as was the custom of the day.

1782-1787 Culpepper Co, VA. He and son, William, were the only"Purveses" listed in that county's record of taxpayers. He was atobacco farmer but unlike his brothers, neither he nor his son, hadslaves. Thomas Ginn was also a taxpayer there at that same time.

1795 Montgomery Co, KY. That was the year he and William moved onwith Thomas Ginn, per descendants but didn't stay long..

1799 Fleming Co, KY

1811 He was mentioned in the will of brother, James.

1813 Bath Co, KY, where he died. The date of his arrival there isunknown.
The appraisal of his estate was recorded on 7/13/1813 in Bath Co, KYand mentioned wife Elizabeth was still living.
