Calvin M "Gibson" had moved beforepurcharsing land at a Federal Land Sale, all in Clay Co: 2 plots:one with 80 acres at 03 05N 073 3 for $1.25/acre, the other at thesame coordinates with 73.98 acres, same price, for a total of $192.48. That same day he also received 2 more plots by warranty deed, 80acres and 78.30 acres, both at the same coordinates as those above.

1860 Crooked Creek Twp, PO Ste Marie, Jasper Co. The census takerfound Calvin, Gibson and his first family living with Hurst Markwell,21. No occupation was listed for either man but Calvin did haveproperty worth $200/$150. Calvin and his wife, Ann, were both 29years old and had 2 children, Randall, 4, and Francis M, 2. Calvinwas born in TN, Ann and Hurst in IN, both children in IL. John andFrances Gibson lived in Smallwood Twp, same county. (Hurst hadentered 80 acres of land in Cumberland Co at E 1/2 SE, on 10/4/1851but apparently didn't like it there and moved south.)

They lived betweenWilliam and Eli Connor, Malinda's relatives, next door to William wasthe Kilbourne family, future in-laws of son Francis.
He was 40 years old in 1870 making his birth year 1830.
Calvin is buried with his 1st wife. A child, Martin L Goodwin, son ofH & M Goodwin, died 3/17/1873 at 12 y 1 mo 10 d, is buried betweenCalvin and Ann with the same type of head stone and the same symbol(hand with index finger pointing upward). There is another spacebetween Martin and Calvin so possibly one other person is there also.
