Conrad vs. Kirtley--O. S. 112; N. S. 38--Bill, 31st July, 1806. Oratori s Stephen Conrad of Rockingham. About 1769 Honorius Powell of OrangeCo unty died. The widow, Jennett Powell, compromised with the childrenas t o the property. Nathaniel Allen and Robert Royston intermarriedwith t wo of the granddaughters of Jennett, and were living inGeorgia. St. Cl air Kirtley was also Jennett's grandson, with whom shelived, but becam e dissatisfied and lived at orator's house until herdeath. (On the cov er of this bill is the following:
"I put this cover on between 7 and 8 o'clock on Thursday morning,Septe mber 26, 1839, and a very cold morning it was. The ClayConvention is i n session in Staunton at this time and is the secondday of its meeting . A. R. St. Clair, aged 39 years, against the 22d
of October next. Lord! Whose eye will this meet when I am ineternity". )

Jennett Powell's will of Rockingham County, dated 16th March, 1803,pro ved in Rockingham November, 1807. To daughters of James Riddles,viz: W ineford married to Hillas Oliver; Mary, Frances, Lucy; todaughter of J ames Riddle, Jr., named Mary; to daughter of FrancisKirtley named Jenn ett; to John Bell's and Francis Kirtley's children.




She was mentioned in the will of son, Simon, in 1771 in Orange Co, VA.
