7/26/1750 On the petition of John Blakey to be discharged from beingo verseer of the Blue Ridge Road to the Red Oak Leavell and that thesaid r oad be divided and cleared by two gangs. Honorius Powell isappointed o verseer of the upper part of the said road from the top ofthe ledge do wn to the Boxing Camp and that he with the male laboringtithables of W illiam Riddle, James Stodghill, William Watkins,Zachary Adams, James B erry, Thomas Morris, Thomas Fogg, JamesGoodall, John Goodall, Thomas W ood, JOhn Wood, James Beasley and thesaid Powell do clear and keep the s ame in repair.

7/24/1755. Ordered that the road from Bennet Beasley is overseer offro m the Blue Ridge down to Boxing Camp be devided by the Blue Runand tha t the said Beasley be overseer of the upper part of the saidBlue Run t o the county line and that he have his gang all the malelaboring titha bles of John White, James Beasley at Caves Quarter,William Riddle, the s aid Stodghill and Watson and the said Beasleyown tithables. Ordered th at Honorous Powell be overseer of the roadfrom Blue Run down to Boxing C amp and that he with his own malelabouring tithables and those of John G oodall, James McKenny's, JamesBerry, William Pearce, Thomas Stanton an d John Blakey's clear andkeep the said road.

10/19/1763 "Pritt vs. Powell. An agreement made between HonoriusPowe ll and Robert Prit, the said Robert Prit is to have oneplantation, joi ning the William Riddle, for forty shillings, or fourhundred pounds of g ood tobacco. The said Robert Prit is to have nopart of the peach orcha rd, but eating peaches, and to dry for his onefamily's use; and to kee p all creatures from harming the orchard; andis to build one good cabi n to live in, twenty feet long and sixteenfeet wide, upon his own cost a nd charge. 11/1767 "Robert Prit vs. Honorius Powell.--Agt. of rental andbuilding a h ouse." Probably because Honorias had died.

Although no will was ever found, on 2/1768 Simon Powell and FrancisKi rtley were appointed administrators of his estate. The estateinventor y (including 1 saddle and 1 coat) was made by William Walker,Peter Ruc ker, and James Collins.

From court records: Conrad vs. Kirtley--O. S. 112; N. S. 38--Bill,31s t July, 1806. Orator is Stephen Conrad of Rockingham. About 1769Honor ius Powell of Orange County died. The widow, Jennett Powell,compromise d with the children for the property.
