Notes for Sarah Bell MARTIN


She joined the Mt Zion church in 1894.

8/4/1896 The newspaper said "Mrs Nelson Powell entertained her sisterM rs C T Martin of Bement, last week." (Was it her sister-in-lawrather t han sister?)

In 1921, the year following Nelson's death, she moved from East NelsonT wp to Sullivan where she lived the last 19 years of her life.
Sarah had been ill for about three years with heart trouble.
McMullin funeral Home was the site of Sarah's funeral with services
conducted by Elder S.A. Dawson of Kansas, IL. Musical numbers were
sung by 5 ladies and nieces acted as flower girls.

Among the pallbearers were Alva Humphrey and George Bateman,
son-in-law.
