A Mrs Smith remembered that Thomas J Powell (1798-1861) married MaryPa lmer 1818 and had 10 kids from 1819-1836. Their son Wm (1826-1896)mar ried a lady with the last name of Springs. (Spriggs?)

He told the 1850 census taker he was born in PA, as were Mariah andthe f irst 5 children.
