Pembina, ND. Their move was reported by the newspaper: "Ten families
left Mercer County this week to make their homes in the far north.
Pembina, the northeast county of North Dakota, bordering on the
Canadian line, is their destination, where they expect to find
prosperity in the small grain belt. (Following a complete listing of
the names of the families, the story continued.) With these men and
their families, go fifteen cars of household goods, farm implements
and stock. Some ship out of Princeton, others from Mercer and
cainsville. They all expect to meet at Des Moines and go on a special
train from that point."
Mercer Co, MO. Apparently the north country didn't work out so they
returned home.
His death occurred following a "stroke of paralysis."
The funeral was held at the Hunter Church on Wednesday with Rev David
E Fields and Rev J.D. Cooper officiating.
