Notes for Arthur B(everly) "Bud" CORNWELL

6/16/1900 Bourbon Twp, Douglas Co, IL, was their address at censustim e. Arthur B was 41, married 3 years to Ida M, 34, who had birthed3 ch ildren, all living. Their blended family consisted of his 2daughters, I va M, 16, and Leta M, 9, her daughter, Edith Light, 9,and their 2 sons H ershel, 2, and Austin, 1. Arthur was a farmer.

5/2/1910 Pilot Knob, Harper Co, KS. By the next census the familyhad m oved to KS, where Arthur's children had been born. Arthur was52, marr ied 14 years to Ida M, 43, who had birthed 6 children, one ofwhom had d ied. Children in the household were Edith, 21, Hershel,12, Austin, 11 , Louise, 3, and Margie, 2. Arthur was still farming.Parson families l ived on both sides of them.

1918 Anthony, Harper Co, KS

2/12/1920 Same place. Arthur B, 62, was a wheat farmer that year atc ensus time. He and Ida M, 55, had 2 children at home, Louise, 13,and M argery, 11.

5/12/1930 Still there. The old couple lived alone that year when thec ensus taker came around. He was 71, had married the first time atage 2 1, Ida was 62 and had married at 31 (That was actually when shemarried A rthur.). Arthur was a general farmer, they owned theirhouse which was v alued at $11,300. They did not have a radio.




Arthru and Ida were in KS in 1930 in their old age, so unless theymove d shortly after, he most likely died there and was shipped backto be b uried with the first wife.
