EFFINGHAM - Bonnie Darlene Decker, 79, of Effingham, formerly ofMattoo n, passed away peacefully at 9:11 p.m. on May 1, 2012 at herresidence, s urrounded by her children. Graveside funeral serviceshonoring her life w ill begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 inthe Pleasant Grove C emetery at Cooks Mills with Reverend Robert C.Clark officiating. Proce ssion from the funeral home will be at 1:30p.m. Visitation for family a nd friends will be Friday, May 4, 2012from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. a t the Schilling Funeral Home. Bonniewas born August 10, 1932 in Mattoo n, daughter of Henry Everett andLaura Catherine (VanGundy) Young. She m arried James Decker onDecember 23, 1951. She was preceded in death by h er beloved husband,Jim Decker; parents; son Steven R. After retiring from thef ield of education, she obtained her broker's license and soldreal-esta te for Schafer Reality in Effingham, Illinois. Bonnie was amember of t he First Christian Church in Mattoon.
