Her obituary said "during her girlhood days she attended the ruralscho ol near her home....Mrs. Vannier was converted at the age of 16under t he ministry of Rev. (page missing) at Exeter, and united withthe Metho dist Episcopal church. Since that time she has enjoyed thewisdom of G od and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, which has guidedher through m any years--culminating in a life of devotion and kindlyaffection towar d all who crossed her pathway."

Her obituary said she died at the home of daughter, Mrs C F Mills,"whe re she had gone several weeks ago in order that she might receivethe c onstant care and attention of her daughter.
Mrs. Vannier's health had not been good for some time, but herfir neds did not realize the seriousness of her condition until a fewdays b efore her death.
Several weeks ago she became ill and was taken to Passavanthospita l, Jacksonville, for treatment, and her condition showedsufficient imp rovement in a short time to warrant her removal to thehome of her daug hter where she remained until the time of her death.At times her condi tion seemed to show slight improvement, but inspite of all that loving h earts and gentle hands could do to relieveher suffering, she passed aw ay as indicated above.
Mrs. Vannier was one of the best known and most highly respectedw omen of the community, where she had spent all her life. She was ofa k ind and cheerful disposition and won many firneds by the charm ofher p ersonality, who will join in extending sympathy to the bereavedfamily.
The body was removed to the home near neelyville on Sundayafterno on where funeral services were held at 2 o-clock Mondayafternoon, cond ucted by the Rev La Verne Barkley, assisted by theRev. W. C. Heidenrei ch. The services were largely attended,testifying to the high regard i n which she was held. Interment wasin Fairview cemetery."

"Her parents and one brother having preceded her in death, sheleav es on these mortal shores, her husband and faithful companion;two daug hters, Mrs. Ida V Burrus, of Peoria and Mrs. C. F. Mills ofBluffs; two s ons, Albert of Neelyville, and Henry of Bloomington; onesister, Mrs. M argaret Tewksbury of Bluffs, and one brother, Mr.George Van Gundy of N eelyville; and three grandchildren, Ruth V andAlene Burrus of Peoris; a nd Maxine Mills of Bluffs.
Thus severs the bonds of this happy famiy, and they deeply mournh er gentle spirit, which God the Fahter has called into lifeeternal."
