Over the years she had worked at Woolworth's Variety Store in Mattoon,w as co-owner and operator of Daily's Market and later worked for MyStor e, a local grocery store. She was a member of the First BaptistChurch a nd Women of the Moose, both in Mattoon.
Following the death of her husband, she moved to Florida to be nearthe c hildren and had suffered a stroke shortly before her death,necessitati ng a brief stay in the nursing home where she died.
Funeral services were held at the Shilling Funeral Home with Dr EEElli ott, minister of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
