7/24/1860 S Okaw Twp, PO Mattoon, Coles Co, IL. At census time, shew as still head of the house with three adult children at home,Fields, 2 5, Elisha, 17, and Margaret, 16. Mary was 60 and apparentlyhad turned t he farming over to Fields. Next door was daughter NancyHoots and down t he road were son John and daughter Minda Price.
8/11/1870 N Okaw Twp, Coles Co, IL. Polly, 67, was again listed ash ead of the house. Son, Elisha, 29, had all the property at$1000/350. S on, Fields, 42, also lived there as well as 2grandchildren, William Ne lson, 8, and Franklin Price, 16, children ofAminda. Son John lived ne xt door.
Descendants say Polly was born in White Co, TN but the 1850 censussays s he was born in OH while the rest of the siblings were born inKY, which i s more likely, and that agrees with the 1870 census.
