On the next pageof the censu s was half-sister Louisa and James Vandeventer whilebrother Hiram was o ne page farther.
6/23/1880 Marshall Ave, Mattoon, Coles Co, IL. Descendants said theym oved south in 1879 but in view of this entry, it was later. Theywere l isted in the census, Isaac at age 25 (he hadn't aged much in 10years!) , Jane was 22. They had only 2 daughters at that time,Clarissa, 7, an d Hattie, 1, (where was Nellie?) Isaac was amachinist. Someone also t old the census taker that Isaac and bothparents were born in OH while J ane and her parents were all born inTN.
1887-1900 Between the birth of son Harry and the next census, thefami ly moved south.
6/26/1900 Springpoint Twp, Cumberland Co, IL was their residence byth e next census time. The census taker recorded his name as Isic,48, wi th wife Anna J, also 43. They both married for the first timeat age 2 2, she had birthed 9 children, all surviving. Living withthem were Fr ed A, 17, Bertha, 15, Harry, 12, Ida, 9, Hester, 5,Ramon, 4, and Lesle y, 2. Isaac was a farmer.
4/30/1910 Same place. At census time Isaac, 57, had been married 31y ears to Jane, 53, with 9 children, all living. Living with themwere H ester, 15, Ray, 14, and Leslie, 12. Isaac was a generalfarmer. Down t he road was an Elder family (nephew of first wife?)
1/8/1920 Same place. Listed as Issac in the census at age 67, he wasa g eneral farmer. His wife was listed as Mary Jane, 62, and livingwith t hem were sons, Raymond, 23, and Leslie, 22, and granddaughter,Beulah W illiams.
1922 Jewett, Cumberland Co, IL.
Isaac died of apoplexy, contributed to by arteriosclerosis.
The cemetery is located 3 mi W of Montrose, IL, 1 1/2 mi N of Rte 40 &
I70. Cumberland Co courthouse records say he is buried at Elliott
Cem.
