Margaretwas 25 a nd the family consisted of only 1 little girl, Mary, 1.Clarrissa Price , 11, Margaret's niece, also lived there. The familylived in a row of W hitleys: next door was Margaret's brother, John,followed by their mot her, then her sister, Bashie Williams, and nextwas sister, Malinda Pri ce.
9/12/1880 Same place. The census taker that year recorded him asJosep h Dailey, 42, and living next door to brother James. WifeMargaret was o nly 27 and children listed were: Mary, 11; John, 10;Nancy, 8; Margare t, 6; Lucinda, 4; Albert 2, and Martha, 3/12 born inApr. Margaret's n ephew, William Nelson, 20, farmer, was also thereas a boarder. Next d oor on the other side was Malinda Price and 2doors down was Elisha Whi tley
6/6/1900 Still at the same residence but living next door todaughter, M ary & Nicholas Easton, at census time. Josiah's familyincluded: "Sin day," 24, Albert, 22, Martha, 20, Ida M, 17, Josiah,29 (should be 16), S ilva, 13, and Alonzo, 11. Widowedbrother-in-law, Emanuel Floyd, 74, l ived with them as a boarder.Josiah was 64 while Margaret was 56, marr ied for 40 years. Margarethad borne 15 children but only 11 were stil l living.
4/28/1910 Lancaster Pct, Wabash Co, IL. That census recorded Josiah,7 1 and widowed, with children Joseph, 26, Ida, 28, Sylvia, 22, andLonzo , 20. Josiah was a retired farmer, both sons were farmers. ASpurling f amily lived next door, relatives of future son-in-law,Harvey Spurling.
Wabash Co, IL. Daughter Sylvia and George Strine lived on Dailyproper ty there and as of 2003 descendants are still in that area.They must h ave bought it at some point as they were renting theirhome as late as 1 940.
The 1900 census says his birth date was Jun 1835. Sons Albert andAlon zo told the 1930 census taker their father was born in OH.
