"Robert A Neaves of Gays, a little town near Mattoon, who ischarg ed by William Mundy with assault to do bodily injury, wasbrought to De catur by Sheriff Lehman Friday and taken before JusticeJohn McCoy, whe re he waived examination and gave bond in the sum of$500 to await the a ction of the grand jury. Neaves is said to beworth considerable money a nd a letter from a banker at Sullivan waspresented which stated that h e had in his own right property worth$15,000 with other sums which wil l come to him from his father'sestates.
Neaves is the man who had the pistol dual with Mundy on WestDecat ur street last Tuesday. Neaves is married and brother-in-law ofRufus H uff, former state representative from this district."

"Robert Neaves is Assessed $100 andCosts f or Assault
"In the county court Saturday Judge Hammer fined Robert Neaves ofM attoon $100 and costs on a plea of guilty to the charge of assaultwith a d eadly weapon.
In September, Neaves, who lives in Mattoon and William Mundy, ofD ecatur, had a fight and Neaves attempted to use a revolver. He washel d by a justice to await the action on the grand jury on the chargeof a ssault to kill. The men had been good friends before the row andafter wards settled their differences. Neaves wanted to get thecharge settl ed and asked that he be permitted to plead guilty to theminor charge."

9/27/1906 He transferred another plot at the same location to Lauraby q uit claim deed for $1.
4/26/1910 Whitley Twp, Moultrie Co, IL. At census time Robert livedw ith sister Stella and David Wiley. He was listed as a 40 year oldserv ant.
1916 Morocco Co, IN where son Rastus was born. Morocco was home toFl ora but Van Gundy relatives also lived there about then.
1920 Wileys Cove, Searcy Co, AR. In the census that year Robert Vwas 5 5 years old, Flora was only 19. They had 3 small sons, RassSelby, 2; D aniel, 1; and Robert E, 1 mo. Robert was a general farmer.

Following Robert and Flora's deaths, the children were shipped back toI L to lived with relatives. Robert "Arkie" went to the Robert VanGundy f amily.
