Elizabeth never married the father of her child and died 2 yrs later.T he child was raised by her uncle, Joseph Spurgeon.

6/4/1873 She was admitted to the county almshouse with her mother,sis ter, Sarah, and brother, Nelson, because the father had desertedthe fa mily.

6/20/1873 She was discharged from the almshouse and "taken by (?)Hend erson to raise."

1880 MO. She was living with her father.
