"AARON ARTHUR, one of the enterprising men of Beech Creek Township, ist he son of John and Annie (Watkins) Arthur, and was born in GreeneCount y December 11, 1841. His father was a native of Kentucky, andhis mothe r of Tennessee. They emigrated to Greene County, Ind., at anearly day, a nd engaged in farming, but after a time moved to MoultrieCounty, Ill., a nd remained about two years; then returned to thiscounty, where they r esided until their respective deaths. AaronArthur is one in a family o f nine children. He was married January16, 1861, to Miss Margaret Ann C rockett, daughter of Benjamin andElizabeth Crockett, and to this union h ave been born sevenchildren—William, Elizabeth, Charley, Benjamin, Ann ie, John andDavid. Mr. Arthur is a stanch Democrat, and he and his wif e aremembers of the Christian Church. He has always taken an active interest in the advancement of education and all the public improvementso f the day. He owns a fine farm of 280 acres, and confines hisoccupatio n to farming and stock-raising."

Aaron's occupation was farmand saw mil l business, Hale worked at the saw mill.. The page hasfaded to nearly w hite so neighbors are unknown.
