Notes for Jane LUCAS

Jane survived John and about 1698 or 1699, she married Thomas B.
Burnett who was co-administrator of John's estate. They managed the
estate for some years: Thomas Burnett of South Farnham Parish, Essex
Co, on 6/16/1728 & wife, Jane, sold 500 acres of the 1372 acres of
John Powell's land in Occupacia-Piscataway area and John Powell, Jr
(Jane's stepson) was a witness.

John Powell, Jr, presumably upon coming of age, sold some of this land
to John Battaile. The minor Powell children were reared by a
stepfather and a stepmother from 1698 to their maturity, perhaps with
an assist from elder brother, Robert Powell, of (unreadable) Co, to
whose neighborhood they migrated later.
