The marriage notice said they were both residents of Decatur and wereo f legal age.

The newspaper carried the story of their wedding:

They were married "at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning.....Theattendant s were Miss Florence L VanGundy and John G Lee. Only theimmediate rel atives witnessed the ceremony. Following the weddingservice a breakfa st was served in the private dining room at theHotel Orlando. Tonight t here will be a reception at the Faganresidence....
The bride's gown was of flesh colored Georgette braided. Shewore a l arge Georgette picture hat to match and carried a bridalbouquet. The b ridesmaid wore pale green Georgette and large, whitepicture hat.
Many handsome and valuable gifts were received, among them achest o f silver. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a strand ofpearl bea ds.
The couple will leave Wednesday for California. They are drivingb ack and will make a leisurely trip, stopping at different pointsalong t he way. Their first stop will be at Jacksonville. They willalso make v isits in Concordia, Kan, Oklahoma, and other places. Theywill be at h ome after Sept 1 in Los Angeles.
The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs W H Fagen and has beenesp ecially well known in musical circles in Decatur as a singer ofmuch ab ility. She has been studying music for some years and hasappeared bef ore many Decatur audiences as well as an chautauquaplatform.
Mr and Mrs J F Newman of Cisco were out of town guests at thewedd ing."
