The newspaper carried the report of their wedding:


"WED SUNDAY EVENING
Orville
Powell and Frances Pierce United

Ceremony Takes Place At the Home of the Bride's Parents In
East Nelson Township-Will Live On Farm

Orville Powell and Miss Frances Pierce, a prominent young couple
of East Nelson township, were married at 6 o'clock Sunday evening at
the home of her parents....in the presence of a number of the
immediate friends and relatives.
The house was beautifully decorated with myriads of flowers and
the wedding took place on the west veranda under a beautiful arch of
white flowers. Ferns and great bunches of dainty white bridal wreaths
were banked all around it.
The ring ceremony was used the ring being carried in a lily by
the bridegroom's little cousin, Mildren Shuman. Lohengrin's bridal
chorus was played by Miss pauline Pierce, a sister of the bride.
Following the ceremony, refreshments were served by Misses Marie Hoke,
Blanche Young and Pearl and Pauline Pierce.
The bride wore a charming gown of white georgette, lavishly
worked and embroidered. She carried a bouquet of Jacqueminot
roses....
Both Mr. and Mrs. Powell are popular young people and received
many presents. The young couple went immediately to their home and
the bride spent her honeymoon in her own snug little kitchen....
Mr. and Mrs. Powell were given a reception on Monday evening at
the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Powell."

Powell relatives among the guest list were: W.M. Powell and family,
Nathan Powell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Powell of Mattoon, Levi
Seass, and Buell Powell of Dalton City.
